Be careful
The number of shops has decreased, and some stores are closed or shuttered. There are comments that the basement area is empty or rather bleak.

- 2There are comments that the basement area is empty or rather bleak.
- 2It feels a bit lonely, with less of the lively atmosphere it once had.
Even so
- It’s easy to access since it’s right in front of Otaru Station.
- There are dining and shopping spots like Kamei and Shinkura.
- It’s convenient, with a bus waiting area and spaces for book borrowing and study.
- You can feel the nostalgic atmosphere of a Showa-era building.
It’s easy to stop by since it’s right by the station, but with fewer shops now, it’s better not to expect too much. A short visit for a meal, quick shopping, or the old-building atmosphere is best.
