Crowded on the bridge during peak season and at night. Snowy and icy paths in winter make it hard to get around.

- A charming atmosphere that’s great for a leisurely walk
- The warehouses and canal scenery are more than enough as Otaru’s signature sight
Go from sunset to early evening for the best views, and since it gets crowded at night, it’s better to take photos earlier. If visiting in winter, bring shoes with good traction.
