Matsuyama Castle

Be careful
It's on a mountain, so it's hard to walk up, and even to the summit you still have to climb a steep hill. Even if you take the ropeway/lift, the last stretch can still be tough for older visitors or those with low stamina.

Even so
- The city views are great, with plenty to see from the lookout
- There’s a ropeway and lift, so you can get up comfortably
- Admission feels less burdensome with things like free coupons for Koreans
- The castle is large and the surrounding facilities are well maintained
If you want to save time and energy, don’t walk up—use the ropeway/lift. Check in advance whether a free coupon applies, and keep in mind the steep final section to the summit.
