What's disappointing

• It was dark because I visited late, and I couldn't see anything because fences blocked the view.
• The security guards kept watching my every move, which was uncomfortable and made it hard to look around.
• There were so many mosquitoes, and the birds were so aggressive that I had to take a detour.
• The unlit environment felt like a scary forest; it was disappointing in many ways compared to its reputation as one of the three major shrines.

What's still okay

• The massive trees looked beautiful.

If you still go

I strongly recommend visiting Atsuta Jingu during the day. At late hours, it's dark and many areas are restricted, so it feels more like just walking through a park.
